Combi boiler

A combi boiler requires no tanks in the loft or hot water
storage tank in the airing cupboard, it provides instant hot
water and heating from one appliance meaning you only pay
for what you use. Main consideration is usually the number of people living in the property and how often appliances will be used at the same time. Generally used in properties with 1 bathroom.

    It’s compact size means it can be adapted to fit almost aywhere in the property

Conventional

This boiler system is usually recommended for larger households as it can handle many hot water uses all at once,  although it does need a big water tank so space should be a consideration.

    They allow for more than one appliance to use hot water at any one time.

    They still work well even if your pressure is low.

    They're easy to maintain as they have a simple design.

Unvented

This option gives you the best of both worlds, combi and conventional. Just need to have the water pressure to accomodate it.

    Unvented systems are not reliant on gravity so the pressure is usually bettter.

    Removes the need for the cold water tank it he loft.

    A lot less chance of freezing.
  • check
    Often compatable with older central heating systems.

Cons

    If there’s no water supply you won’t have hot water.

    These systems are not always compatable with modern showers. We can advise you on this.

I have a leak!! How do I stop it!?

If you have a sudden leak the first thing you need to do is locate the mains stop cock. The most common places to look are:

in the kitchen sink cupboard, under the stairs, garage or boiler area. Lastly the mains shut off to the house generally at the end of your driveway, or on the walkway directly in-front of your driveway.

Once you have done this, please call us to assist you in a repair
I smell gas! What do I do?

* Get fresh air immediately; make sure you open all doors and windows to ventilate the area.
* Turn off the gas emergency control valve (also called gas emergency shut off valve) at the meter, unless the meter is located in a basement or cellar or at the LPG bulk tank or storage vessels.
* Extinguish all naked flames and don’t smoke.
* Don’t operate electrical switches (including turning light switches on or off) because this can ignite escaping gas
* If you’re feeling unwell, visit your GP or hospital immediately and let them know you may have been exposed to carbon monoxide.
* Call us to send one of our gas safe professional emergency operatives to you
* Don’t turn the gas supply on again until it’s been checked by a gas safe engineer
